New Christmas Shoes for Local Children in Need
As we enter Advent, our hopeful season of preparation, consider the hopes and needs of children right here in Alexandria. School officials at T.C. Williams and Casa Chirilagua have identified 116 students this Christmas that are economically disadvantaged. Serving as an incubator, members of our Downtown have started a local chapter of the national “Shoes That Fit” non-profit. For $30 per pair, a new pair of brand named sneakers can be purchased to help us fulfill the hopes of all 116 local children.
To give a child in Alexandria a new pair of shoes, you can click here.
You can also give at the time of offering during one of our worship services at 11 a.m. on Sunday morning. Simply write “Shoes” on the memo line of your check or on the envelope.
Visit the Christmas tree in the back of the sanctuary for more information or to pick up a name ornament from the tree.
